Quoting & technical guidance

From your first enquiry, our quoting and technical teams will provide clear, practical advice on the most effective way to mould your components. By drawing on decades of mould-making expertise, we’ll help you to identify the right design approach and tooling strategy, as well as the most efficient manufacturing route for your production needs.

Design & engineering

Whether you have a complete specification or just an idea, we can turn it into a robust engineering solution. Our in-house design team works closely with customers to develop the exact mould tool required for the specific application. We model every feature in advanced 3D CAD software, ensuring precision, repeatability and ease of manufacture.

We also offer:

  • Reverse engineering of existing parts to create accurate component models and drawings
  • Full component modelling from customer sketches, concepts or performance requirements

Design support for customers with limited technical data

Prototyping & early validation

We strongly recommend prototyping before committing to full production tooling. Our prototyping service provides accurate, real-world feedback on moulding and de-moulding behaviour, which is essential when working with complex geometries or unfamiliar rubber compounds.

This early research and development phase is essential to:

  • Understand compound behaviour
  • Validate part performance in application
  • Optimise de-moulding for complex 3D forms
  • Avoid costly tooling modifications later
Manufacture & CNC production

Once you approve the design, we’ll release the drawings and models to our manufacturing team. Burnsall Engineering’s ongoing investment in advanced CNC machinery and precision equipment ensures that every detail is machined, processed and fitted to the highest standard. This means that you can be confident that each tool leaving our facility has been produced with exceptional accuracy and care.

Trialling & process support

Our goal is to ensure that your tool performs exactly as intended from day one. Most moulds are cold-moulded with shrink-free rubber before dispatch to confirm cavity accuracy. For customers unable to trial in-house, we can arrange external trials with trusted moulders.

Additional trialling and process support includes:

  • On-site trial assistance for exported small/medium compression tools
  • Dimensional inspection and conformity checks for larger tools
  • Technical support during first-off moulding to fine-tune the process
Aftersales support

We stand behind every tool we manufacture. If your moulded results aren’t as expected, we’ll investigate and correct the issue to get you back into production quickly.

Complex tools may require minor adjustments to optimise rubber flow and air release. While our experience eliminates most issues at the design stage, we remain committed to fast, effective support whenever fine-tuning is needed.
